Meet A Mom: Heather
We hope you enjoy this glimpse into how the past 11 months have affected Heather and her family. She is honest and motivating as usual and the pandemic drove her and her family to connect and create through fitness, wellness and a even book. Plus, they jumped on the pandemic puppy bandwagon! You have to see the adorable picture of their pup! Heather pivoted her business to expand and open a new studio with outdoor green space and a focus on cycle and bootcamp. Announcing Mundelein Park & Recreation’s New Children’s Book: “My New Mask”
I have always turned to book to help me teach tough topics to my children. Thankfully, Christa Lawrence, Marketing Manager at the Mundelein Park & Recreation District wrote and illustrated “My New Mask” to help kids tackle this topic and adapt to the changes caused by the pandemic. Speaking of adapting, like all businesses, the Mundelein Park & Recreation District has needed to pivot to help the community and fundraise. Historically done through events which had to be cancelled, Christa thought to donate proceeds to the Mundelein Parks Foundation. Christa is an asset to MPRD and the community. She combined her dream to create a children’s book into a reality that at the same time helps children and the foundation!

Meet A Mom: Marianne
Meet Marianne, a Nashville-based mom with an Illinois connection. Two months ago, Marianne was flying to Chicago for work and coincidentally sat next to my husband, Ryan who told her all about the Libertyville Area Moms network. Turns out Marianne is a longtime children’s book author and artist whose books I have known and loved for years — and maybe you have, too! Marianne’s Chicago connection is her publisher for more than a decade, Sourcebooks, Inc. in Naperville who distributes her books all over the world. (side note – Sourcebooks is the largest woman owned publisher in the US!).
