Winter in Walworth County | Libertyville Area Moms

Lake Geneva, Fontana, Delavan, Williams Bay, East Troy, Elkhorn and the many towns in Walworth County are not just for Summer! These year round destinations are have so much to offer this winter especially with so many people looking for outdoor activities a close drive away.

Lake Geneva is just an hour drive from the Libertyville area which is enough to make it feel like a fun road trip, but close enough to not hear “Are We There Yet?” a million times.

Two big winter events are coming up in Lake Geneva: Ice Castles and Winterfest Lake Geneva! Whether you visit during these fun events featuring snow and ice, or any time this winter, we hope you find this information useful!

Sledding

Rudy Lange Sledding Hill

Free neighborhood hill in Delavan, WI about a 15 minute drive from Lake Geneva. Plenty of room for everyone to sled safely! Park along the street and walk to the the hill.

Washington Street and Terrance Street

This sledding is free to the public and located at Sage Street and Mill Street

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

Non-resort guests at Grand Geneva may use the sledding hill and rental dependent on daily weather conditions and availability. You can also go skiing, use the ice skating rink and outdoor fire pit near their Leinenkugel’s Mountain Top Lodge. Grand Geneva also offers cozy igloo dining.

We loved the Sausage, Pepperoni and the Specialty Pizza Uncle Lou with Sausage & Banana Peppers.

Pier 290 has with heated outdoor dining and firepits. Mars Resort & Restaurant also has igloo dining. Other local favorites are Chuck’s, Rigatony’s and The Kringle Company, The Coffee Mill, and Boxed & Burlap!
