As a Travel Advisor I always say “know before you go” to avoid any major problems with your travel experience.

9/11 was a huge wakeup call for our country and security for all when traveling via air.

So each state has been working on implementing the Real ID program.

• Everyone age 18 and above will need to have a valid passport OR a Real Id to fly, even if it’s only in the USA.

• Please visit the following website for information https://www.dhs.gov/real-id and be prepared with the correct documents needed to get either form of identification.

• Don’t wait until the last minute to get these, it can take a few weeks to a few months depending on how many applications they are processing.
