The Un-Gala for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana | Libertyville Area Moms

Do you have a favorite cause or charity that is near and dear to you heart?  For me, it’s The Ronald McDonald House near Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. They provided enormous comfort when we needed it the most.  In the four weeks that my first born spent at the nearby children’s hospital in downtown Chicago, we were able to stay in the brand new house to be close to him. This saved hours of commuting and thousands of dollars in hotel and food expenses for which we are forever grateful.  It was by far the hardest time of my life while also being the happiest since I just received the best gift of my life – a baby boy!

I will always remember the profound impact that stepping foot into The Ronald McDonald House had on me! I was blown away by the many donors who contributed so much to build and furnish the House. This house of love, comfort and support was created by the donations from local corporations, small businesses and families. I have always wanted to pay it forward to RMH and to these companies and the parents staying in the home after us. Please consider donating to The Ronald McDonald House fundraising event described below.

Pediatric Illness doesn’t stop. While the world is on pause, critically ill children and their families still need care and comfort. The work that The Ronald McDonald House doesn’t stop either. They provide shelter, comfort, safety, and reliability to the families who need it most. Now, more than ever, families need you.

To put the health and safety of their community first, The Ronald McDonald House has turned their Annual Gala into an Un-Gala full of family stories, mission moments, and fun activities for the entire community. They are nearly halfway to their goal of raising $1 million by May 2 to keep families of critically ill pediatric patients close to the care and resources they need – and you can help them reach their goal.

Here are a few ways you can support families today:
Join them online from April 29 through May 2 for four days of interactive, family-friendly fun that you can join in from your home as they celebrate being together – even when we’re far apart.
Hear from families who have stayed in their Houses, volunteers, hospital partners, sponsors, and even a few celebrities and special guests! Share how you’re joining in by tagging #UNGALA2020, and tune in at 7:00 p.m. on May 2 for a special live streaming celebration.
On behalf of the families who count on them every day for comfort and care, thank you for rallying with us to ensure families can get better together.
