Nature Immersion Camp

Muddy Boots campers (ages 3 to 5) spend most of the time in our forest playground, enjoying a balance of adult-led activities and free play. Whether it’s nature crafts, water play, walks through our trails, digging, singing or dancing – all activities are adjusted to follow the children’s pace. A truly relaxing summer experience!

Nature Explorers campers (ages 6 to 12) explore our campus and conduct science experiments, take longer bike rides around our community and to the forest preserve, practice circus skills, and learn survival skills, such as making a shelter and starting a fire. All campers spend most of the time outdoors and take weekly trips to the beach, get treats from the ice cream truck, and enjoy nature-oriented events in and off campus.

Nature Immersion Camps are open to all children, whether or not they attend Nature Walk Montessori School.

Camp Chi Overnight Camp

For over 100 years, Camp Chi has transformed children’s summers.

We unplug campers from their daily lives and connect them to life-changing moments while supporting their personal growth. And long after the last s’more, the best of Camp Chi stays with you.

Where else can you sail a boat, fly down a zip line, record an original song, jump in a pool, hit an archery bullseye and sing around a campfire all in one day?

Campers see opportunities for adventure and fun, while we see them making decisions for themselves, gaining independence and discovering their passions.

Camp Deerhorn- A Boyhood Adventure Since 1930

“This summer, your boy will grow.” Words written by our grandfather when Deerhorn was founded in 1930 still ring true 95 years later. A lot has changed in those 95 years, and summers are busier than ever. We listened to what parents wanted and offer shorter sessions that many other camps don’t. We start and end our summer with two 4-day Father Son camps, and have 5 camper-only sessions in between, each 10 or 11 days long. Many kids stay multiple sessions. We offer an amazing line up of activities, including canoeing, sailing, swimming, water-skiing, horseback riding, mountain biking, crafts, basketball, tennis, archery, riflery, golf, and sports & games. The focus at Camp Deerhorn is not on being the best in those activities, but on self-improvement, and building skills for a lifetime.

Even though a lot has changed in the past 95 years, the things that make Camp Deerhorn so special have not. A summer at Deerhorn is so much more than activities, team competitions, playing with camp dogs, and campfires. It’s a summer of growth, adventure, independence, and new friendships. It’s a culture of kindness built on the words of the Deerhorn Creed, where he feels like he can be his true self. It’s the beginning of an incredible journey, where he finds courage to try, fail, and try again, trust in his own strength and abilities, and friends who become family.

Camp Kamaji for Girls – Be Who You Are Without The Noise

Kamaji is a safe, happy, fun-filled place for campers to unplug, try new activities, learn new skills, be silly and goofy, develop a true sense of self, be deliriously happy and make lifelong friendships with both campers and staff. Activities include sailing, horseback riding, water skiing, paddle boarding, wake surfing, climbing, archery, full arts village, dance, drama & theater, swimming, fishing….and that’s only the beginning!

At Kamaji, courage is celebrated. We encourage girls to come to our camp without knowing anyone else here; that takes courage. While at Kamaji, campers are encouraged to try activities they have never done before and to challenge themselves to step outside of their comfort-zone in order to grow, learn, and develop their own independence. This takes courage they might not know they have (yet!) and is extremely empowering!

We recognize our campers for their individual accomplishments and efforts. If a camper wants to wear red cowboy boots every day around camp, she becomes a camp icon. If a camper stands up on stage during the Variety Show to sing a solo and gets stagefright, the campers in the audience sing along to encourage her. We recognize the courage and strength it takes to put yourself out there to go to a new place, meet new people and be true to who you are.

Camp Kamaji is an incredible place that will inevitably help shape the confident, kind, strong, and brave daughter you already have! Join us for Summer 2024 at Kamaji! (Fun fact…Camp Kamaji is owned by a Lake Bluff family!)
