Rock the Bald with St. Baldrick’s:
Hawthorn Mall invites the community to “Rock the Bald” during a fun-filled virtual St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event to raise money to help find a cure for childhood cancer. The event is being held in cooperation with St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any other organization outside the U.S. government. Anytime between now and Wednesday, March 31st, participants are invited to videotape themselves having their heads shaved, then share the video on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #rockthebaldathawthornmall.
For those who want to help, but just can’t part with their lovely locks, there are also opportunities to volunteer or donate to the cause. Several incredible prizes will be awarded to the top fundraising participants, including a football signed by Allen Robinson and a 2020 NFL mini helmet signed by Cole Kmet of the Chicago Bears. Those who raise $50 or more may pick up a complimentary t-shirt between March 22nd and March 31st, and teams that raise the most in donations can pick up their medals and fundraising prizes between April 5th and April 9th in the mall’s Management Office; ID required.

Easter Egg Bunny Selfie Station:

Hop on over to H&M court March 15th – April 3rd and snap a selfie in our Easter Bunny garden set! While we don’t have professional photos with the Easter Bunny this year, you can snap a selfie at the set and share your picture to Facebook or Instagram and tag @hawthorn_mall for a chance to be featured.
Coloring Contest:
To participate in the Coloring Contest, guests simply download a coloring sheet from the mall’s website, color it beautiful and drop it off in the mall management office, submit a copy via email to [email protected], or submit by messaging a photo of the coloring sheet along with the age of the artist through the Hawthorn Mall Facebook page for a chance to win an Easter basket filled with goodies, including a $50 gift card to the Hawthorn Mall retailer of their choice. The contest runs from March 20th to April 3rd, and the contest winner will be randomly selected and notified via email or Facebook Messenger on April 4th. Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt:
This event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 3rd, is open to Hawthorn Mall MyPerks members and their families. Joining the MyPerks program is free and easy. To become a MyPerks member, simply visit https://www.shophawthornmall.com/login/#register.
MyPerks members can pick up their Egg Hunt Card in the MyPerks Lounge just before the event begins, then search for Easter eggs on participating retailer doors. When they find the eggs, guests ask the retailer to stamp their Egg Hunt Card. Once all eggs have been located and their card is full of stamps, scavenger hunt participants can take a photo with the Easter Bunny in the MyPerks Lounge, then receive an Easter goodie bag containing an Easter-themed kids craft, bunny ears, and a small to-go snack from Maggiano’s.
One bag per person, while supplies last.
Pre-registration is required and guests are asked to comply with all state and local COVID safety recommendations; everyone 2 years and older is asked to wear a mask.

Virtual Easter Activities On-line:
- Virtual Postcard to the Easter Bunny: Children are invited to write a postcard to the Easter Bunny, and the shopping center will deliver it for them electronically. Then, the Easter Bunny will write back, sharing egg-stra special wishes for a wonderful Easter Day. - Bunnify Yourself: Families will enjoy hopping on the shopping center’s Instagram page from their mobile device and “bunnifying” themselves using one of three special Easter photo filters, then posting their story to their own Instagram feed and tagging the center at @hawthorn_mall so family and friends can try it too. - Easter Coloring & Activity Sheet: Kids can download free coloring and activity sheets from the center’s website to create their own masterpieces, then share a photo of their completed artwork on the shopping center’s Facebook page for a chance to win an Easter basket and $50 gift card to the Hawthorn Mall retailer of their choice.
