Labor Day has come and gone and the kids are back in school, but that doesn’t mean that outdoor fun has to end.
Join us for the 9th annual Mundelein Fine Arts Festival, held Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8, from 10 am-5 pm in beautiful Kracklauer Park, (100 N. Seymour Drive).
Mundelein Fine Arts Festival is a juried art festival featuring the talents of 45 fine artists and craftspeople who work in a variety of media, (including paintings, drawings, woodworking, photography pottery jewelry and more). Enjoy strolling through the artist booths, listening to live music and eating delicious food from local eateries.
In addition to professional artists, Mundelein Fine Arts Festival will also highlight artwork by students from Carmel Catholic and Mundelein High School. Visit the High School Tent to see the tremendous talents of these young artists on display. Select students will be awarded an Art Festival scholarship to help inspire and further their artistic journeys.
Families with children will find a lot to do at the Arts Festival! There is a children’s craft tent, where kids can create art of their own and, on Saturday, a Secret Shopping Tent where children ages 12 and under can purchase art of their own! No parents allowed…this tent is for the kids! The art for the Secret Shopping Tent is donated by the participating artists and is sold for $5. Proceeds benefit the Mundelein Parks Foundation. This is the second year of the Secret Shopping Tent. It went over so well that we are doing it again. The idea for the Secret Shopping Tent came from the artists—who see value in promoting art appreciation at a young age.
When children have exhausted their creativity energies, they can play on the large playground in the park.
September is a beautiful time of year for a festival, and visitors will enjoy the friendly community atmosphere of the show.
The Mission of the Mundelein Arts Festival is to support the arts, provide scholarship money to deserving art students at Carmel Catholic and Mundelein High School, and bring more attention to Mundelein as an excellent place to live and visit.
Mundelein Arts Festival is presented by the Mundelein Community Connection and Mundelein Park & Recreation District. We would gratefully acknowledge all of our sponsors, including McDonald’s in Mundelein, Gentle Dental Care, Mundelein and Graber & Gyllenhaal Orthodontics, Vernon Hills whose generous support provides funding for the student scholarships.
