My family and I have been residents since 2009 and love living here!

Eleanor is our spunky 7 year old. She is a vivacious force who loves climbing (anything) and cooking with her parents.
What are your favorite things to do in the area with and without your kids? Family friendly restaurant? Date night?
Our family loves Lake County’s forest preserves! We often visit the Old School Preserve’s “fitness loop” and move through all the obstacles! As a family we love Firkin and Mickey Finns and on date nights my husband and I sneak off to The Tavern, Main Street Social or the Green Room.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor or in the corporate world?
I am the proud owner of Studio Elevate Fit—Libertyville’s newest fitness studio! After working in the fitness industry for the past 7 years as an instructor, personal trainer and helping run a studio, I wanted to use my experiences to create a space that authentically serves both the mind and body.
Studio Elevate Fit is a boutique fitness concept offering 3 unique group fitness formats (Fusion, Elevate and Bounce), plus yoga and personal training. At Studio Elevate Fit, clients experience top-in-class instruction from exceptional instructors in a physically beautiful and welcoming setting. Each design element for the studio balances both functionality and beauty creating the ideal environment for physical movement and mindful practices. We are a community that promotes mindfulness, embraces HAES (Heath at Every Size), and values relationships.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
As a child my family moved almost annually so I’ve never understood the concept of having a “hometown” until we put roots down in Libertyville. I love that I end up seeing someone I know every time I leave the house, that there are community-based online resources to help moms connect and problem solve and that Libertyville residents value small/local businesses
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I am learning how to Longboard. I am terribly awkward, and my technique needs improvement but I keep practicing!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another Mom?
Glennon Doyle is one of my favorite moms! She speaks on how a great gift for our children is to help them feel simultaneously “free” and “held”. It’s a beautiful idea.
