Where are you from and how long have you lived in town? What brought you to the area?
I was born and raised in Libertyville. I had such an amazing childhood here, plus my family is here, I wanted to be able to raise my kids here to give them a childhood like I had.

Yes! Luka is 4, Vivian is 3 and Emmi is 1.
What are your favorite things to do in the area with and without your kids? Family friendly restaurant? Date night?
My husband, Eric, and I had our first date at Thai Noodles Cafe (they have the BEST Pad Thai), so that little white house always is a special place to go. I personally love The Tavern’s lounge! Our family loves Mexican food, Dos Amigos is always a good choice! We also love Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! We are proud to have our business in the LAM Holiday Guide along with Dos Amigos and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor or in the corporate world?
Yes! After being a SAHM for 3.5 years, I decided I needed something for me! I started to make wreaths, LOVED it, and Howling Rooster Co was born! I opened an Etsy shop, started to market locally, and did a craft show here and there.
Howling Rooster Co creates wreaths for the seasons, holidays, and special occasions. All wreaths are handmade and most are one of a kind! I love to create custom wreaths that are specially made for my customers.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This community has always been so inspiring to me! The sense of community is so strong, and the support the community and business owners have for each other has really encouraged me to pursue my creative passion and open my business here.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Prior to being a SAHM, I worked as a pediatric occupational therapist for 10+ years. I still love it and will see a client here and there!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another Mom?
Enjoy all the moments, even the hard ones. This too shall pass. And to take intentional time for yourself. Self care is so important.
What are your favorite places to travel near and far and why?
We love southwest Michigan! We took 2 trips this past summer to St Joseph’s, MI and South Haven because we love it so much. Those beaches are such a peaceful place! We also love to hike-Yosemite, Rocky Mountain State Park and Lake Tahoe have been a few favorites. We can’t wait to take the kids to all our favorite hiking spots when they’re a bit older.
What is next for you?
Howling Rooster Co is a baby! I want to continue to create beautiful wreaths for people! It makes me so happy and hope it does the same for others! I’d love to form more relationships with local businesses and see what direction this business takes me! And keep making memories with my family! I’m excited for the future!
