MAMMA MIA PIZZA
Our pizzaiolo, Alessandro was born and raised in Rome. Alessandro met Angela(co-owner) in Olympia, WA many years ago. Angela grew up in Libertyville. We have recently returned to the area with our two children. Some of our favorite traveling includes road trips across the country to some of our favorite spots on the west coast as we spent periods of our life living there.
We both love coffee and gelato, and our favorite place is Libertyville’s Hansa and Libertyville’s Sweet Home Gelato. One of our favorite local breweries is Tighthead Brewery in Mundelein. As a family we also like to visit Cook Memorial Public Library as we all enjoy a good book.
We started a project in 2008, and bought a small horse trailer to turn it into a food trailer but couldn’t finish it due to budget costs. In 2015 we all moved to Utah, and a few months later we started the current Mamma Mia Pizza. What pushes us forward in continuing to make pizza from the mobile oven? It is the amazing quality-oriented population in the local area and our passion to excel with our product.
The community in the area has allowed us to reach a further step forward, that exact step that we couldn’t find in Utah. We have received great feedback and help not just from people in the community but other small local businesses as well.
The implicit support from friends and Moms have reminded us that, away from constructive criticism, it is important to hold onto your dreams, and to keep out negative input.
We are currently trying to get a permanent space to open as a casual Italian Café, and also are working to cover our current mobile trailer. Meanwhile we are preparing to utilize a bakery in Grayslake to be able to accommodate delivery options of our best vegetarian lasagna, gluten free Italian pastas, calzone, pizza dough, and pizzas. Stay tuned!
