Where are you from and how long have you lived town? What brought you to the area?

I grew up in Lindenhurst a town just north of here, went to Carmel high school , we moved here in 2009 from Antioch after living there for 9 years when Sam and I first got married. My wife Sam grew up in Libertyville,  we really liked the town and schools. We decided to move here when our oldest jack was going to start first grade.

Do you have children?

We have four kids, Jack 15 going to be a senior at LHS, Ryan 14 who attends Laremont ( SEDOL) in gages lake so this will be his freshman year, Ella who will be 12 in two weeks and is going into 7th at highland, and Josh who is 10 and is going into 5th grade at Copeland.

What are your favorite things to do in the area with and without kids? Family friendly restaurant ? Date night?

We live close to DQ so we often walk up there with the kids and we live in a great neighborhood so a lot of nights/ days are spent just hanging in the hood. The kids/ family usual choice is Mickeys Finns for dinner, my wife and really like Shakou and Tavern.

Are you involved in a local business venture, a local organization, endeavor, corporate? Please share.

I am part owner of Aspen Landscapes, this is our 23rd year in business, most of our business is done in town.

How has the community been instrumental in getting you where you are today?

When my business partner and I first started aspen we were also working at mickey Finns at night as bartenders (23 years ago) our first customer was the owner of the bar at the time, we still have them as a customer. We have a lot of support through our town and referrals for people in town is our main source of business. We will be in the parade for Libertyville Days, we are thankful for the support from everyone in town.

What’s next for you?

Spend time with my family, having a junior makes you realize how quickly these years are going, we recently bought a house in Wisconsin on lake redstone, this will be our first summer up there so we are excited to spend a lot of family time together.
