Hands-On Cooking Camp at Taste Buds Kitchen! | Libertyville Area Moms

What’s better than watching your favorite cooking shows this summer? Being part of the action in a fully-equipped, custom-designed kids kitchen with all the right tools at your fingertips!

BE the next Giada or Guy with hands-on summer cooking camps at Taste Buds Kitchen in Bannockburn.

Budding chefs age four to teen whip up batches of fun and new recipes each day. Each week is a new culinary adventure that explores a new theme and unique menu, creating two to three recipes each day – both savory and sweet. Themes include Plant to Plate, Around the World, Baking 101, All-American Road Trip, Culinary Passport, Chocolate Lovers, Future Celebrity Chef, Tasty Tales, Restaurant Week, Cooking Show Favorites, and more!

Thursday is Bake Sale Day where young chefs make their own cookie concoctions to present for sale to the public to raise money for charity partner, Cookies for Kids Cancer. Last summer, TBK campers earned over $2,800 to support the cause and learned how they can make a difference in the lives of others.

Younger chefs, ages four to eight, focus on the basics along with kitchen games during a half-day experience offered in the morning from 9:00am-12:00pm. Afternoon campers age 9-13 tackle advanced techniques and culinary challenges from 1:00-4:00pm. And ages 10+ can apply to be a Counselor-in-Training for a full day experience from 9:00-4:00. Limited CIT positions are available each week so applying early is strongly recommended. Registration is now open for full week campers ($275-295). Single day sign-up ($60-65) goes live on Monday, April 8, 2019. Space is filling quickly so sign-up today at tastebudskitchen.com/bannockburn.

And new this summer, TBK’s special evening Advanced Teen Camp from July 15-19 will leave teens (age 13-17) with a new sense of culinary confidence and the ability to make dishes from scratch. From the recipe reading home chef to the gastronomy obsessed insta-stylist, this experience is sure to satisfy any foodie’s curiosity and palate. The cost is $350 and space is limited to just 16 students. Cooking camps are offered all summer (June 10-August 23)—and on every school holiday, including spring and winter breaks.

“At Taste Buds Kitchen, we bring people together to create memories around cooking together – regardless of age or skill level,” said Kitchen Owner, Amanda Marijanovic. “Whether it’s a unique date night experience, girls’ night out, family dinner workshop, mommy and me class or a weekly cooking class in our kitchen or at a partner school, we engage and delight budding chefs age 2-99 with experiences that are creative, unique and hands-on – with everything made from scratch.”

By day, offerings include signature summer and school-holiday camps, birthday parties, parent/child workshops, after-school semester classes, field trips, scout troops, and more. By night, public adult workshops and private events are BYOB and ideal for team building and corporate groups, bachelorette and bridal/baby showers, and any occasion worth celebrating. Private lessons and gift cards are also available.
