Citadel’s Summer Camp program fosters a sense of community by welcoming students of all levels in an effort to not only have fun but to nurture a love and deeper understanding of theatre. Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp is nestled within 37 beautiful acres featuring sprawling sports fields, natural wetlands, winding nature trails, two heated outdoor pools, a climbing wall, zipline, ropes course, athletic courts, air-conditioned buildings. Apachi Evanston Day Camp is full of endless fun and activities including sports, swimming, performing arts, cooking, arts & crafts, theme days, field trips and more. Centrally located between Skokie and Evanston, camp features an open green field with shaded areas for baseball, flag football, soccer, and scavenger hunts. The indoor, air-conditioned space includes a large gym and a stage for dance and theater. There are multiple camps within Apachi Evanston including Sports Camp where 2nd-7th grade campers work on skills, drills and mini-games to enhance their performance in a variety of sports. Apachi Ivrit and Apachi Ivrit Sports Camp exposes campers, 4 years-4th grade, to conversational Hebrew by listening and speaking with counselors and friends. A transportation hub at the Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook is available for Apachi Ivrit and Apachi Ivrit Sports campers. Performing Arts Camp has professional actors and artists guiding 2nd-8th grade campers as they develop their acting, dancing, musical theater, improv, stage makeup and backstage skills. Summer, summer, summertime! Discover the JOY OF JAMMING and playing songs with others in a real band. Yes, it can really happen in a week! Twelve Tone’s popular summer music camp will take kids on a journey through musical genres while learning POPULAR SONGS of the time. Kids and teens will be placed in small groups based on age, skill, ability, and interest. SMALL GROUP LESSONS will be given on an instrument of choice and followed up with group BAND PRACTICES. Twelve Tone’s music camp provides a SAFE SPACE for kids and teens to explore their musical potential with experienced teachers and mentors. The groups will also innovate and CREATE SONGS together after learning key SONGWRITING SKILLS and perform a FINAL SHOWCASE for friends and families at the end of the week. It’s crazy fun to watch the transformation of these kids over the week! Music Genres: Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Perfect For: Kids who have taken at least a few lessons on their instrument, who love playing music, being creative, hanging out with friends, and collaborating with others.
