Lake County Oral Surgery is a trusted oral and maxillofacial surgery practice serving the Lake County area for 30 years. Led by Dr. Fabian LaTocha, we specialize in wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, oral pathology, and a full range of surgical procedures. This summer, we’re excited to be welcoming a new provider, Dr. David Gasper, to our team — and we’ll be accepting insurance, making care more accessible than ever for local families.

What inspired you to start this business?
Dr. LaTocha was drawn to oral surgery because of the immediate, life-changing impact it has on patients. Whether it’s a teenager anxious about getting their wisdom teeth out or an adult finally getting the dental implant they’ve been putting off, he loves being able to provide expert care that genuinely improves people’s quality of life. Building a practice rooted in the local community has always been the goal.
What makes your business unique compared to others in your industry?
Dr. LaTocha has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery for 30 years. His depth of experience means patients are in exceptionally skilled and steady hands. In addition, both doctors are board certified.
How does your business connect with the local community?
We’ve been caring for Libertyville-area families for decades and many of our patients are now bringing in their own kids for wisdom tooth consultations — which feels like a real honor. We’re committed to being a resource families can count on for honest advice, whether it’s figuring out the right time for a teen’s wisdom teeth or answering questions about what to expect after surgery.
What is your most popular product or service right now?
Wisdom tooth extractions are by far our most requested service — especially as families prepare teens for college. Many parents want to time the procedure during summer or winter break so recovery doesn’t interfere with school. We make the process as smooth as possible, from the initial consultation through post-op care.
What ages does your business serve?
We see patients of all ages, but a large part of our practice is teenagers and young adults coming in for wisdom tooth evaluations and extractions. We also treat adults for implants, oral pathology, and other surgical needs.
Do you have any seasonal specials or new offerings?
Yes! This summer brings two big updates: we’re welcoming Dr. David Gasper as an associate, which means more appointment availability, and we will be accepting insurance — a change many families in our community have been asking about. It’s a great time to get that wisdom tooth consultation on the calendar!
Is there anything surprising about how your business works?
A lot of people don’t realize that wisdom tooth extractions don’t always have to be an emergency or a painful ordeal! When we catch them early — ideally in the mid-teens — the roots are shorter, recovery is faster, and the whole experience is much smoother. We always recommend bringing teens in for an evaluation even before problems start.
What is your favorite thing about the Libertyville Area Moms Network?
Moms are the healthcare decision-makers for their families, and this community is exactly where those trusted recommendations are made. We love being connected to a group that genuinely looks out for one another — and we’re grateful for the opportunity to be a resource for local families navigating their kids’ oral health.
