Hello! Please introduce yourself.
My name is Anna Szot. I am the owner of Anna’s Hair Studio and I opened my salon 13 years ago.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in town?
I’m originally from Poland. I’ve lived in Libertyville for 2 years, but I’ve been working in town for 26 years. I began my career working in a local salon which gave me the foundation and experience to eventually branch out on my own.
Tell us about your family?
I have 2 grown children and 4 amazing grandchildren.

Which podcasts inspire you the most?
I like anything that has to do with health and wellness. I also watch hair tutorials and take classes to always keep up with the latest styles and color.
What are your favorite places to travel near and far and why?
My favorite places to travel are Poland and Hawaii. Poland is especially meaningful to me because my family is there. It is always a special time reconnecting with my roots and lived ones. I also love visiting Hawaii because it’s incredibly beautiful and peaceful with so much to see and do. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.
Tell us about your salon.
Anna’s Hair Studio is a small, independent salon that has proudly served Libertyville for over 13 years. Our salon has been built on word of mouth recommendations, relationships, repeat clients and truly getting to know the people that sit in our chairs. We offer a variety of services from haircuts, color, and styling to manicures and pedicures and even facial services. We value trust, consistency and creating an experience where our clients feel heard, comfortable and confident.
Why do you love your job?
I love my job because it allows me to combine my passion and creativity every single day. I truly enjoy connecting and socializing with people and there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone feel confident and beautiful when they leave my chair.

What truly makes our business special is our team. Our knowledgeable and talented stylists Lauren, Isabel and Iwona along with our wonderful Esthetician Henia, bring so much experience, passion and care to every client they serve. We’re more than just a salon team, we are a family and that warmth and connection is something our clients feel the moment they walk through the door.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
We have the most loyal clients and they are fantastic about spreading the word about Anna’s Hair Studio.
Do you have a favorite local non-profit?
A non-profit that is very close to my heart is Lurie Children’s Hospital. I admire the incredible care and support they provide to children and families in our community.
As a mom, what’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten?
Be a good listener. Sometimes our kids don’t need us to fix everything, they just need us to truly hear them.
