Taste Buds Kitchen Cooking Camps

Our kids cooking camps are the perfect recipe for gaining kitchen confidence, learning essential cooking skills and making new friends.

Kids work together as table teams to create several recipes all from scratch – both savory and sweet – while whipping up batches of fun.

Younger chefs focus on the fundamentals of measuring, mixing, and working safely in the kitchen with short breaks for stories and kitchen games.

Tweens & teens hone in on more advanced cooking and baking techniques, recipe prep work, sanitation and knife skills with fun culinary challenges.

When school is closed, we’re open! We offer half-day cooking camps on every school holiday and all summer long.

Taste Buds Kitchen is the premier culinary entertainment experience for kids, families and adults. We host cooking classes and events for ages 2-99 in our bright and spacious kitchen studio that’s custom-designed for kids by day and is adult BYOB by night.

JCC Chicago Camp Chi

For over 100 years, Camp Chi has transformed children’s summers.

We unplug campers from their daily lives and connect them to life-changing moments while supporting their personal growth. And long after the last s’more, the best of Camp Chi stays with you. Where else can you sail a boat, fly down a zip line, record an original song, jump in a pool, hit an archery bullseye and sing around a campfire all in one day?

Campers see opportunities for adventure and fun, while we see them making decisions for themselves, gaining independence and discovering their passions.

Camp Deerhorn – A Boyhood Adventure Since 1930

Camp Deerhorn is set within 100 acres of woodlands carved out of the Wisconsin wilderness and is more fun than you ever dreamed possible. If you ask a first year camper what the best part about Deerhorn is, they will probably name several activities…mountain biking, horseback riding, skiing, sailing… But ask that camper the same question a few years later, and you will truly understand what makes Deerhorn so special. He will tell you about how kind and supportive the counselors are, how Deerhorn is a safe place to try new things, and how much he loves getting to come back every year to see his friends. And as he grows up at Deerhorn and becomes a counselor, he will get tears in his eyes when he tells you about how much he loves his Deerhorn Family.

Because a summer at Deerhorn gives so much more than fun, growth, adventure, and independence. It’s the beginning of an incredible journey, where he finds courage to try and fail and try again, trust in his own strength and abilities, and friends that become family.

So what makes Deerhorn so special? The Deerhorn Creed. Written by our grandfather in 1930, its values of kindness and generosity are the foundation upon which we were built, and it envelopes every aspect of camp, creating an atmosphere of acceptance, support, and cooperation. Our activities are taught with an emphasis on fun and improvement, rather than on competition or athletic ability. This focus on improvement does wonders to build self-confidence. We consider our activities to be lifetime sports that each boy can continue to enjoy throughout his life. Whether he loves chasing a soccer ball down the field, making projects in arts & crafts, or just hanging out with the camp dogs, there is a place for him at Deerhorn.

The Neighborhood Hotel Grand Beach, Michigan

The Neighborhood Grand Beach, Michigan is your escape — a place where nature’s bounty is celebrated and pure comfort is prioritized. Imagine your day beginning with sounds of nature, coffee by the campfire followed by a dip in the glistening pool or yoga near the ravine. The adventurer explores the woods and waters of Harbor Country followed by a round of golf or tennis. Meanwhile, the relaxed vacationer continues to bask (possibly reclined) amongst the native trees and greenery. The day comes to a close with a barbeque garnished with fresh herbs from the garden + s’mores under the stars (or in the plush living room for indoor folks).

Fourteen large, stylish suites (including two cottage homes) feature thoughtful amenities. Stocked kitchens and a well curated collection of art and accessories reflect the inn’s current vibe while paying homage to the history.
