The Chicago Comedy All-Stars is a group of the best stand-up talent the Windy City has to offer. On-stage credits include The Tonight Show, HBO, Comedy Central, The Oprah Winfrey Show, America’s Funniest People, Showtime, Stephen Colbert and WGN to name a few. Enjoy a lineup of seasoned comedians for a night of entertainment.
Rick Young: Rick is your MC for the evening. He is an accomplished actor/comedian/master of ceremonies/auctioneer who has appeared all over the country including Second City and Kingston Mines, Chicago; Pasadena Playhouse, California; Dudley Riggs’ Brave New Workshop, Minneapolis, etc. Rick’s brand of humor deals with an interesting variety of dilemmas in every day life. Rick is co-owner of the Chicago Comedy All-Stars.
Sonya White combines southern charm with big city street smarts. She has most recently appeared on a CMT production “Southern Fried Chicks” which is now available on DVD. She has been featured on Comcast’s “Comedy Spotlight” and at “The U.S. Comedy Arts Festival 1999,” which aired on HBO, E, and Comedy Central. White’s observational comedy is enhanced by dead-on impersonations and appropriate sound effects. Both her comedy stage show and her one-woman show, “Airing Dirty Laundry,” are based on real-life experiences and her fond-but irreverent-interactions with friends, family and the world at large. White’s television credits also include roles on the Fox Network’s “Nightshift,” The Family Channel’s sitcom “Big Brother Jake” and MTV’s national promotion for “Spring Break ’98.” She has played a colorful character on national promos for “The Jerry Springer Show,” and done cartoon impressions for The Cartoon Network’s “Pick Your Shorts.” Sonya is a member of both the Screen Actor’s Guild and The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Hari Rao’s comedy draws upon 44 years of life experience to highlight the peculiarities of everyday living that we simply accept as given, as well as dissecting his own personal experiences that can best be described as “are you being serious?!”. His adventure in standup began in 2016 while his experience in entertainment spans two decades as a recording artist, a recurring theme in his comedy (his band’s song “Rewind” can be heard as the theme song to ABC’s The Goldbergs). Hari can be seen performing regularly in the Chicago area, including Zanies Comedy Club and the Laugh Factory.
Gorton Community Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.
